Our new Mud-Pick Midget with our patented Telescoping Rod attachment

WELCOME TO MUD-PICK!

Our new Shallow Water Anchor “MUD-PICK” serves to keep a fishing boat stationary when wind or water currents tend to cause the boat to drift away, when the angler tries to go after his business of fishing in a certain promising location.

The basic design is that of a parallelogram main frame, which serves to keep a fiber glass rod in a vertical position when lowered to contact the bottom of a lake or river.

The motion of the parallelogram is powered by an electrically driven worm gear, eliminating a hydraulic system with cumbersome hydraulic pump, cylinder, hoses, fittings, possible oil leaks, etc.

This new (and patented) anchor is also equipped with a new mechanical “Wave Compensation”, which serves to maintain contact between anchor rod and lake bottom in wavy conditions of up to 3 foot waves.

A new (and patented) attachment includes a telescoping rod, which allows a main frame to be 12 inches shorter than a traditional anchor of this parallelogram design .Meaning, an anchor that sticks up in its vertical storage position to only about 35 inches, about as high as a 6 foot anchor, but can reach a maximal depth of 8 feet. The telescoping action of the rod occurs automatically when the anchor is lowered into the water.

An additional extension to this attachment can be used, which has to be lowered by hand, when the angler expects to be in waters deeper than 8 feet. This addition makes a 10 ft. anchor out of a model that sticks up in storage position only 35 inches.

The above described automatic attachment and the hand operated extension can also be used on our 8 ½ ft. models , extending the maximal depth to 10 or even 12 Feet.
