MAGDY BARSOUM graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Fine Arts, School of Architecture in Cairo, Egypt, ranking first in his class.  He then taught there for six years.  He also worked and studied in several European countries.

In 1969 he immigrated to the US, where he continued his education at Cornell University.  He worked as an architect for some of the most notable firms in the city of Philadelphia and also taught in the interior design department at Drexel University. In 1977 he established his own firm where he specialized in design concepts and presentations for large projects for government and private developers, including Disney World, Trump Organization, CRDA of Atlantic City,  and Resorts International, Inc., to mention a few.

Some of the unique waterfront skylines in the US inspired him to design posters of waterfronts and landmarks of major cities: Penn’s Landing, Independence Hall, New York City’s waterfront featuring the World Trade Center Twin Towers, and Columbus Ohio, and San Diego’s unique waterfronts.  His posters were on display in selected U.S. embassies, and can now be viewed at www.cityskylinesusa.com

In recent years he has been an avid student at the Delaware Art Museum and member of Philadelphia Sketch Club, Main Line Art Center, Wayne (PA) Art Center, and Art League of Alexandria, Virginia.

His artistic talents took a turn to oil and acrylic painting of distinctive Egyptian and American scenes.  His work has appeared in numerous juried and international exhibitions through the East Coast and abroad.
