DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO 43 THORNDIKE STREET

We are located on the first floor of a red brick building called the Clerk of Courts Addition in Bulfinch Square, located at 43 Thorndike Street in Cambridge between Second and Third Streets. This building is directly behind the Middlesex County Probate and Family Court – a large brick four-column building. There are three entrances to our building: the main entrance is off of Thorndike Street on the plaza up a short flight of steps; the side entrance is on Second Street between Cambridge Street and Thorndike Street; and the third entrance is on the plaza up a short flight of steps off of Second Street between Cambridge Street and Thorndike Street.

FROM BOSTON:

  1. Go to Leverett Circle – where Storrow Drive connects to the Central Artery/Route 93. Follow Route 28 towards Cambridge across the Science Park Dam past the Science Museum, which will be on your left.
  2. Go straight through the first traffic signal. At the second traffic signal, the road forks; take the left fork (no longer Route 28) past the Lechmere subway station, which will be on your right.
  3. Turn left onto the first street past the Lechmere subway station onto Second Street. Our building will be on your right at the first intersection at Thorndike Street.

FROM CAMBRIDGE:

  1. Go down Memorial Drive – past the Cambridgeside Galleria, which will be on your left. After the Galleria, you pass over a small bridge. Turn left at the first traffic signal onto Route 28 – just before the MBTA Green Line overpass. At the next traffic signal, the road forks; take the left fork (no longer Route 28) past the Lechmere subway station, which will be on your right.
  2. Turn left onto the first street past the Lechmere subway station onto Second Street. Our building will be on your right at the first intersection at Thorndike Street.

FROM ROUTE 1-93 IN BOTH DIRECTIONS:

  1. Get off at the exit to Storrow Drive. Follow signs to Route 28 to Cambridge. Cross the Science Park Dam past the Science Museum, which will be on your left.
  2. Go straight through the first traffic signal. At the second traffic signal, the road forks; take the left fork (no longer Route 28) past the Lechmere subway station, which will be on your right.

FROM HARVARD SQUARE:

  1. Drive down Cambridge Street towards Boston.
  2. In East Cambridge, just after Third Street, the courthouse will be on your right. Turn right onto the first street past courthouse onto Second Street. Our building will be on your right at the first intersection at Thorndike Street.

FROM WEST:

  1. Take the Mass Turnpike (Interstate 90) toward Boston and get off at Exit 18.
  2. Follow the signs to Cambridge. Stay in the right lane on the off-ramp and keep to the right at the signal, where the Turnpike ramp intersects Cambridge Street. Proceed in the right lane for a short distance over the Charles River Bridge and turn right at the light onto Memorial Drive.
  3. Follow Memorial Drive for about 2.5 miles, following the signs to Cambridge. Along the way, you need to be alert to remain on the left and go under the Mass. Avenue bridge, lest you get forced to turn right on the bridge and end up in Boston, and then, about a mile later, you need to be alert to remain on the right and not be drawn onto the Longfellow Bridge, with the same result. Then Memorial Drive becomes Land Boulevard and you will pass the Cambridge Galleria Mall on your left. Stay in the left lane and turn left at O’Brien Highway (Route 28).
  4. Stay in the left lane on O’Brien Highway, which leads directly into Cambridge Street (O’Brien Highway angles off to the right). Turn left onto the first street past the Lechmere subway station onto Second Street. Our building will be on your right at the first intersection at Thorndike Street.

PARKING FOR 43 THORNDIKE STREET

There is a parking garage on Thorndike Street one block away from our building located between First Street and Second Street.  The entrance for this garage is on Spring Street, so from Second Street, turn left onto Thorndike Street, right onto First Street and then turn right onto Spring Street to access the garage.  Street parking is metered, but available.  There is also parking at the Galleria Mall, a three-minute walk from our office.

PUBLIC TRANSIT DIRECTIONS

We are located a short walk from the Lechmere MBTA station in East Cambridge. Take the E line of the Green Line to Lechmere Station (the last stop on the E line). When exiting the train, turn left and go through the bus station area, walk up one block and turn left onto Second Street. You will be walking into the East Cambridge residential neighborhood. Cross Cambridge Street and walk about a block and a half to the entrance to our building which is on the right before you reach Thorndike Street.
