To an artist, there are always possibilities, there are always new ways to solve problems and see solutions where none would seem to exist.

Aesop Rhim could not tell the story on these pages without this quality, because he would never have survived to tell the tale. Placed in a situation in which others would admit defeat, Aesop thinks of alternatives—new ways out of dire predicaments such as those he faced in wartime. His creative take on life sees him through many potential disasters—it got him through art school, prompted his journey to the U.S., and presents to him more possibilities here. His fertile imagination can see God opening doors where others would see a blank wall.
