Surviving the Turbulence
COMING SOON
In my first book, Flying Alaska Gold, I recounted many of my adventures as an inexperienced pilot fighting my way through Alaska’s outback: the storms I survived, the unorthodox landings, and all of the crusty characters (both human and animal) I met while flying the precious yellow gold. In this book, I still fly gold, but this time the gold comes in the shape of biologists. I spent 30 years making dangerous flights over Montana to deliver these dedicated wildlife biologists into the mountain haunts of the animals they study. In ferrying them into the wild, I am proud to say that I have worked with giants. Sadly, dur¬ing these years, my son crash-landed in the wilds of Alaska. Coming to grips with his death has fueled the writing of this book. We encounter so many kinds of turbulence as we pursue our dreams. I know the Denali glaciers will always watch over the wilderness lodge that Ryan and I would have bought to fulfill our dreams, and the white giant glaciers stand eternal guard over the great land of Alaska.
