With over 20 years of recreational boating and also serving as a commercial operator as a licensed captain, Johnny Smith founded Coastal Atlantic Marine Surveying to assist clients with surveys of vessels being considered for purchase, providing unbiased value and condition surveys for lenders, insurance, or legal purposes, as well a consultant for clients regarding upgrades, changes, or improvements to an existing craft. Confidentiality is strictly maintained with the client contracting the work.
All survey work is performed according to standards established within the US Code & Federal Regulations (CFRs), and the voluntary standards and recommended practices developed by the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC). Along with marine surveying, Coastal Atlantic Marine Surveying also offers instructional charters to make avid boaters become more confident as an operator of their vessel. If you’re new to boating or looking to gain some real hands-on experience, connect with Johnny to discuss what needs you are looking to improve while on the water.
