Blue Ridge Mountains Tours
With so much to see and do in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, a tour can be the perfect option for getting a sense of the culture and spirit of the region.
Natural Bridge
In 1750 George Washington first surveyed this 20-story limestone natural feature, which would become one of the oldest tourist destinations in America. Thomas Jefferson acquired the site in 1774. Visitors can tour through the Monacan Indian Living History Village, wax museum, toy museum, and the Natural Bridge caverns, then take a quarter-mile walk to the bridge.
Lexington, Virginia Military Institute
This is well worth the stop if you are in Lexington. The buildings and architecture are interesting and beautiful in their way, cadets everywhere you turn. The museum is small, but houses a wonderful collection of arms and historic memorabilia.
Thomas Jefferson Monticello Home
“Allow yourself plenty of time beyond the guided tour of his beautiful home, to immerse yourself in his life and times, beginning with the excellent visitors center and it's obligatory but very good gift shop.”
“A great place to visit with kids; great views and lots to see; nice trails; gardens in the spring and summer; house tour is shorter than we remembered from years ago but very informative.”
Tour starting @9am to 6pm.

Richmond Raceway held its first NASCAR race on April 19, 1953. Founded in 1947, Martinsville Speedway is only track which has hosted Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races every year since the division’s inception in 1949. With 800-foot straights and nearly-as-long turns (588 feet) that hardly bank (a mere 12 degrees), Martinsville has been called "two drag strips with a turnaround on each end" and is the shortest, and possibly the toughest, Monster Energy Cup track. The Speedway hosted its first NASCAR-sanctioned race on July 4, 1948.
