STUCK Disability Designs is a business that provides consultation services and education to private and public entities, to ensure buildings are accessible and usable by people with disabilities, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act 1991 (ADA).

On July 26, 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed into law the Americans with Disabilities Act, which prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in employment, transportation, public accommodations, commercial facilities, telecommunications, and state and local government services.

56.7 million people or 19% of the civilian non-institutionalized population in the United States with a disability in 2010.

15.7 million people age 65 or older with at least one disability (according to data collected from 2008-2012). Of this group two-thirds had difficulty with walking or climbing stairs. The second-most cited disability was difficulty with independent living, such as visiting a doctor’s office or shopping.

ABOUT US

The mission of STUCK Disability Designs is to work conjointly with both public and private entities, without the use of litigation, to educate them on current ADA (Americans with Disability Act of 2010) regulations. This may include, but is not limited to: visual disabilities, physical disabilities, auditory disabilities or any other categories that would be deemed a disability by a treating physician.

OUR VISION

STUCK Disability Designs is based primarily on providing consultation and education to individuals who suffer from a disability that would prevent them from enjoying the sights and scenes that would be available to the ability standards of the general public.  State, local government and private entities may not refuse to allow a person with a disability to participate in a service, program or activity due to their disability.

•  Documentation of site and building elements for non-compliance according to the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design

•  Provide non-compliance citations using codes specified in the 2010 ADA Standards for  Accessible Design
