Surfside Martinique

Surfside Martinique properties are conveniently located in the middle of the island, north and south, and just steps from a beautiful beach. Located centrally so as to make sightseeing in either direction convenient.

A huge plus is the fact that directly east, a few steps away, is the largest nature preserve on the island where you can hike and explore, visit secluded beaches, and discover the Light House (with a view that will take your breath away). There is also the Chateau Dubuc, the ruins of the plantation house of farming family pioneers, who at one time owned the entire peninsula, where they produced sugar cane and tobacco for export to Europe.

There are hikes for all levels of hikers within the preserve from 30 minutes to 3 hours long.

Surfer's Beach

Directly in front of the property is our beach which we call "Surfer's Beach", and as you can see from the pictures of the surf, it is a name well chosen, although it is not the only surf spot on the island. There are several other spots on the east coast and others on the northwest. The water line offers several areas to swim in coral pools, great for the kids and adults alike.

In our small village of Tartane, just a few minutes away by car, there are tiny grocery stores, souvenir stores, a gas station, several restaurants and cafes and some small marches where you can buy local fruits and vegetables. Taste all the delicacies on offer, baguettes, croissants, pains au chocolats....... at Tartane's local FRENCH bakery all made fresh daily. You can also buy fresh fish daily caught by the fisherman of the village. Fifteen minutes away are larger grocery stores that carry a wide variety of French foods, meats, cheeses, wine, and of course LOTS of Rhum made right here on the island.

You must also visit the current capital of historic Fort de France where there are shops like Roger Albert, and others as well as impressive sights to see. One is the Schoelcher library, designed and built by Gustave Eiffel the constructor of the Eiffel tower.

To the south are the beautiful beaches of Diamant and St. Anne offering a less mountainous version of Martinique, and white sand beaches. To the west are the black sand beaches of the Caribbean side of the island and the town of St. Pierre, with all its history and volcanic ruins.

A Caribbean island yes, but home to one of the best infrastructures in all of the Caribbean Basin, as Martinique is still a French Department and benefits from that relationship.  We provide ideas and plenty of brochures on places to go and things to see.
