Meet Our Staff

At Loving and Learning Child Care Center we pride ourselves on our exceptionally caring and knowledgeable staff. Our devotion to creating a fun, safe, caring educational atmosphere for the children is our top priority.

Michelle Barton, Director

I began working in the childcare field after the birth of my first son in 1990. I have always had a huge love of children and knew that my calling was working with them, so childcare was a perfect fit for me. In 1993 I began working for Loving and Learning and I immediately knew that I had found my forever work home and I have been here ever since! I began teaching in the young two year-old class, a few years later I became one of the 4K teachers and then moved into the assistant director job and then to director.

I attended both Trident Technical College and the College of Charleston, where I majored in Elementary Education. I am married with two now grown sons, both of whom attended Loving and Learning until they were middle schoolers.

After 24 years I can still say I absolutely love my job and I love this child care facility.

Amber Culley, Assistant Director

I have been working at Loving and Learning since 2006. I choose this field because I have a strong interest in caring and teaching young children. I began here as a 3K teacher and after two years I began working at the front desk, helping the director and assistant director. Not long after, I was promoted to assistant director. I have studied at Trident Technical College, and I have a beautiful 10 year old daughter who has attended Loving and Learning since infancy.

I enjoy being the assistant director as it gives me a chance to work with not just one group of children, but all of the children, as well as their parents and teachers. It is a job I find very fulfilling.
