Norvell Nelson, PhD

Norvell is a veteran technical writer and research analyst with many years of experience in authoring reports, papers and patents in chemical and energy technologies. All aspects of technical writing are encompassed in his portfolio including proposal preparation, technical documentation of projects, presentation of project results, and intellectual property documentation.

Norvell was the technical leader for a number of start-ups, requiring him to wear many hats in addition to shepherding the technology. He was also charged with managing IP development, conducting all interactions with the regulatory community, and meeting with both existing and prospective investors.

Norvell was the Chief Technology Officer for Longbow Technology Ventures of Las Vegas. A key task of his at Longbow Technology Ventures was to provide the investment committee with accurate technical assessments of the requests for funding. Norvell was also charged with maintaining awareness of technology advances in the key areas of interest of LTV. Part of this charge was accomplished by attending various national meetings on such topics as batteries, fuel cells, seawater desalinization, green truck technologies and ARPA-E leading edge technologies.
