MARIAH BROWN

Short summary of ARH

In 2011 my family and I took a trip to Ghana, Africa. It was the first time I had gone to Africa. We visited many places including a school in the village of Ayase, where my father grew up. There were about 30 children in each classroom, but I noticed that they had to share one textbook and pass it around the classroom to review the information. This meant that none of the children could take the book home to study.

When we returned home, I asked my Mom and Dad if we could build a library to help the children. The library could be filled with books they needed to help them get ahead and study and we could also put in computers. My parents agreed, so in 2012 we went back to Ghana to start planning the future library. The Ayase Library in Ghana, Africa is now complete, but we need your help to put books, furniture, and computers in the library to give the children a chance to thrive and do something extraordinary.
