Gifted Gardens Montessori

ABOUT US

Our Staff

The quality of teachers is very important to us here at Gifted Gardens Montessori. Gifted Gardens offers your children a wide variety of opportunities to learn and to achieve success in a safe and nurturing environment. Whether it’s preschool, kindergarten, or after school care, we know that nourishment, structure and one on one attention will aid in promoting a positive sense of self and help your child achieve goals. As a certified day school in the State of Oregon, we ensure that our faculty and staff are in full compliance with jurisdictional standards, rules and regulations. Safety is paramount here at Gifted Gardens Montessori. Our primary concern is the safety and protection of your child. All personnel are carefully screened, trained, and supervised to ensure the safety and protection of your child. To ensure that your child has only the best teachers and staff, we screen all applicants thoroughly. We check references, and obtain in-depth background checks, all staff must be trained specifically in Infant, Child and Adult CPR as well as First Aid. Our dedicated teachers must maintain fifteen hours of continuing education a year as well.

Community Gardens

Gifted Gardens Montessori promotes community awareness through local gardening. Two community neighborhood gardens border our facility, Oliver Community Garden and Parklane Community Garden. We have our own Peaceful Garden for exploration, learning, and fun. It provides an opportunity for children to enjoy the health, social, economic and environmental benefits of local, organic gardening. No chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, etc. are ever used at any of the community gardens.

Our Philosophy

Early childhood is the optimal time for a wide range of developmental processes. This is one reason that children need and deserve caregivers and teachers who are well informed and strive to provide the best possible developmental opportunities regarding child development and children’s needs. When special needs or concerns arise, don’t stress. Ask us, tell us, talk to us, we will work with you to resolve situations, make accommodations for you, and live up to our values.

Eco-Friendly Focus

At Gifted Gardens Montessori we focus on providing your child with a healthy, eco-friendly, nurturing environment. Kids spend their time completing play-based learning activities. We have daily adventures out in nature – exploring our huge fenced property, gardens, natural play structures, and arboretum. We only use safe, non-toxic products and re-usable utensils/ napkins/ non-plastic items. Teaching our children to care for our planet as our shared home is a fun way to live which we practice daily!
