Everything LIT was created by James Michael Payne who was tragically killed on May 4, 2019. James was one of the kindest and most loving people who had a passion for basketball and living life to the fullest. James prioritized his life by family, friends, and basketball. He was blessed with being a talented basketball player who enjoyed coaching, training, and mentoring young players to be the best they could be, on and off the court.
James’ dream was to create a LIT fashion line with his many original logos and now his family and friends will honor him by not only finishing what he started but taking it to the next level and establishing The James Michael Payne Memorial Foundation. A large portion of all purchases will be going towards the Foundation.
Mission Statement
The James Michael Payne Memorial Foundation is a nonprofit organization created to inspire and empower young basketball players to be successful in achieving their athletic goals and bringing awareness of obstacles and how to overcome them. It was created in honor of my son James Michael Payne who was a very passionate, creative, kind, caring, full of and larger than life, compassionate and spiritual young man who always wanted and saw the best in everyone. Which was evident in his basketball training methods and the forever guidance that he provided to all. This will be accomplished by instilling confidence, commitment and integrity through education and empowerment.The targeted beneficiaries are middle and high school athletes that demonstrate financial need for which the foundation would provide travel basketball scholarships.
The goals of the foundation are to provide scholarship funds to assist with the following:
- Travel basketball enrollment fees
- Sports equipment including uniforms, shoes, etc.
- School scholarship
- Create a better understanding of drug awareness
- Art and sports combinations
