42-Hour Florida Class D Training
for 14 ½ hours days.
COURSE OVERVIEW
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing, licenses and regulates the security Industry in accordance with Chapter 493, Florida Statutes, to ensure the interests of the public are adequately served and protected.
A “Security Officer” is a person who, for consideration, advertises as providing or performs security services. Security services include: bodyguard protection; guarding property; transporting prisoners armored car services assisting in prevention of theft or unlawful taking of goods, wares and merchandises; and assisting in prevention of the misappropriation or concealment of goods, wares or merchandise, money, bonds, stocks, choses in action, notes of other documents, papers, and articles of value or procurement of the return thereof.
Training and Experience Requirements: An applicant for a Class “D” Security Officer License must complete 40 hours of training at a licensed school or training facility or complete an acceptable alternative training.

While the course is based on the Florida D License verio of th4 text that is provided for use in the classroom, you may also purchase the 50-State Edition on Amazon. While each book is similar, the 50-State Edition does not include the Florida specific laws that will be discussed in the class.
