Bringing the world to Africa villages via books and computers.

Access to an education is one of the only opportunities young people have to end the cycle of poverty and attain a better quality of life than previous generations. Africa Reading House Inc works to help African children, who otherwise would not attend school by supplying educational materials to reduce or eliminate education costs.

Justin Ofori Brown

Board President and co-founder

ARH board president Justin Ofori Brown is an advocate for literacy with a deep passion for how innovation in technology enables access to quality education for students in under-served schools and communities worldwide. Born and raised in Obuasi, Ghana, and educated in Kumasi, Ghana, Canada and the U.S., Justin has over 20 years of information technology experience in government and corporate sectors, Justin graduated from Seneca college and is currently a Principal Consultant at Microsoft Corporation.

Mariah Brown

Secretary and co-founder

ARH board Secretary Mariah A. Brown is student at Markville High school. Mariah Brown founder of Markham Youth Debate Council. She is involved in debate clubs and political classes at her school.

Charles Mnogomezulu

Board Treasurer

ARH board Treasurer Charles Mnogomezulu holds a Ph.D. in International Political Economics from Miami University, and previously works as Sr. Research Analysts at American Airlines. He currently works at AT&T as Sr. Technology Consultant.

James Cox

Executive Director

ARH board Executive Director Jim Cox. He is currently a Director of Technical Delivery at Microsoft Corporation. He has been with Microsoft for 14 years and possesses over 25 years of experience in the Information Technology Professional Services industry. He is a graduate of Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY and holds a degree in Computer Science. He currently lives in New Jersey with his wife and 4 children.

Aisha Metivier

Board Director

ARH Board Director Aisha Metivier currently works at SecureWorks as Enterprise information Security Advisor. She has a Bachelor of Science from University of Toronto and a Master of Public Administration from Queen's University.

Peter Li

Board Director

ARH board Director Peter Li is passionate in supporting organizations and in taking effective steps to connect under-served communities with knowledge and information through books and computers in libraries. Born and raised in China, educated in both China and in the US, Peter has over 20 years of practical and leadership experience in Enterprise IT strategy and large complex project delivery for Global Fortune 100 and public sector organizations. He is currently a Principal Consultant at Microsoft Corporation.

Owusu Appiah

Staff – Volunteer

ARH staff Sammy Owusu Appiah currently works as Mathematics Teacher at Obuasi SDA Junior High school. Born and raised in Dadease, Ghana. He graduated from Offinso college with Professional Teacher Certificate and Diploma in Basic Education from Abetifi college of Education in Ghana. He has been involved in the distribution of books and the maintenance of the library. He has been championing the needs of children’s’ education and working to promote positive change.
