Historically, Americans have felt little compulsion to learn other languages. Most Americans expect everyone else to learn English, and to some extent, that happens. Like English, other foreign languages are critical, and without an emerging generation of bilingual speakers in America, the United States faces growing holes in intelligence gathering, trade relations, and cultural understanding. The I.A.E. believes that nothing less than a groundswell of visionary donors is needed to marshal the resources necessary to reverse today's trends. The I.A.E. works to encourage new players -- corporations, foundations, governments, nonprofit organizations, individuals, and others -- to invest their time and resources in supporting proven career solutions throughout international communities.

The I.A.E. believes each and every one of us has the ability -- and a responsibility -- to help support the positive academic career development of “developing countries”. Whether you give of your time, talent, or treasure, there are many ways to prove you care, and to give back.

Strong Leverage of Donor Funds

An important objective of I.A.E.'s work is to increase the quality and quantity of philanthropy for international teachers and administrators, with special emphasis on leveraging substantial new funds from both traditional and non-traditional sources in several countries. I.A.E.'s strategies for accomplishing this objective are to promote donor partnerships, encourage international investment, and stimulate local philanthropy.

While business leaders have long supported international issues, I.A.E. creates vehicles through which corporations and others can invest their funds with even greater focus, efficiency, and effectiveness. I.A.E.'s and its country partners work together to make sound investments in career development programs through a variety of financial mechanisms, including unrestricted grants, donor-advised funds, and challenge grants.

Your investment is needed and appreciated. Thank you to all of the donors who have generously supported I.A.E. and its partners.
