Mr. Leininger began his practice as a Family Law attorney in 1978 as an associate attorney at a small boutique matrimonial law firm on Fifth Avenue in New York City. By 1994, he had been practicing traditional matrimonial law for 16 years, and he was becoming quite discouraged because the traditional way of litigating divorces seemed to him to be pouring salt on the emotional wounds of both spouses. In addition, he saw that the legal fees climbed fast and high! Over the past 26 years, he has mediated over 800 divorces, involving difficult custody issues and large amounts of assets, up to $8,000,000.00. In addition, many of his clients were doctors and business persons with substantial assets. He also has mediated over 400 cases involving civil service pensions, including firemen, police officers, correction officers, sanitation men, school teachers, etc.

When people ask how they should select an online divorce mediator for their divorce case, Mr. Leininger makes the following suggestions:

• Make sure the mediator has at least 10 years' experience handling divorce cases.
• Make sure that the divorce mediator has mediated at least 100 divorce cases.
